Good dialy Vitamin advice...
Posted Sunday, January 16, 2011 at 3:24 PM

Hi Guys!! I just wanted to say this is my 2nd time doing this and this time has been much easier. I feel awesome and have become less lazy in the kitchen... Anyway I plan to stick with the vegan lifestyle, so I was just curious if any of you could recommend a good daily vitamin????

Thanks in advance
- Lindsey

I take Dr. Weil's Daily Multivitamin for Optimal Health. I order it from Vitacost.com which has the best prices and very reasonable shipping.

I got (off Amazon):
Deva Vegan Vitamins Vegan Tiny Tab Multivitamin & Mineral

Because they are:

1. small
2. not mega doses of stuff I don't need
3. inexpensive
4. I like the name

I wanted to add that I've also ordered from vitacost.com several times in the past and gotten great deals/service from them.

I've never taken a multivitamin in my life. Well, as a child, mom would give me a "squirt" of something called polyvisol. Well, at least that's what I remember it being called. Just know it tasted good and mom started hiding it when she caught me taking an extra dose, lol! I'm 58, live in WA (cloudy winters and I'm NOT a sun type), so Dr. said I should start taking vitamin D3. Well, that's not vegan, but D2 is. I'm sure there are numerous sites that carry vegan stuff, but I ordered my D2 (Deva brand) through http://www.veganstore.com. I've also ordered my work and exercise shoes through them. EVERY aspect of EVERY product is thoroughly checked to ensure they are vegan. One note on shoes - both mine were New Balance. Checked the NB site and one pair was on sale, so I saved $20!

Thanks! Found it on a rescue site that I just recently saw featured in my local newspaper. I've sent them a message asking about volunteer opportunities. Don't have much time, but this, along with a local no-kill shelter, grabs my heart!

A friend showed me this and I use the quotes as needed for various site postings.

HI
I checked out the vitamins.. they seem to have some megadoses..i don't take anywhere near that amount..

I guess i don't worry so much about vegan here.. maybe someday i will change my tune.. but for now.. consumer reports has done tests for accuracy in the bottle and absorbancy in the body.. guess who came out on top for a multi.? walmart... go figure.. cheap too.

now i either buy centrum or walmart...

@ 2 meowes.. you might want to take a b complex if you don't already...

Well, I don't really think I need to. Checked this link, as well as others, and since I eat many of these items, and a good number every day, I think I'm getting plenty. Get B12 from nutritional yeast, and one cup of Silk has 50% of RDA B12 (Brain and Bone health version).
