I haven't had a salt shaker in my house for almost 2 yrs now. Should I think about adding sea salt for some stuff? I'm not sure I have a reason to, since I've been quite happy without it. Some type of nutritional value I should know about? Every now and then I crave a pickle; maybe my body saying have some salt? I'm sure there must be enough sodium in my diet without added.

Salt is salt. Your body can't say "Oh that is sea salt. Lets not raise the blood pressure." It sees sodium and it raises the blood pressure.

Me? I would have sprinkled Mrs Dash or another blend on it.

Funny you should mention Mrs. Dash to me! She lives in my cupboard! Was just wondering about my sometime pickle craving and thought it might be for salt. My BP is fine. Thanks for your comment!

I have the pickle cravings too. So I eat them. This isn't total exclusion of what you like, just healthier choices. I've even made my own [refrigerator or freezer no canning] without all that salt. And they tasted better. Laughing
