Cold medicine

I went vegan about six weeks ago, and I currently have a bad cold. I've been taking cold medicine but for some reason my body is incredibly sensitive to it. I literally feel like I am on drugs. I can't concentrate or read, and I have nervous twitches. My head feels like it is in the clouds. Both DayQuil and Mucinex give me these effects, only my body's reaction to each one is unique. Is this normal? Do other people discover heightened reactions to drugs on the vegan diet? Is there a cold medicine someone can recommend that won't give me these effects? I've never had problems with over the counter medicine like this before.

I definitely have found a link between clean eating and my sensitivity to medications. I have had 2 colds in over 20 years, so I don't know much about the medications on the market.

You might try taking 1/2 dose and see if that improves the symptoms for you.

Always offer kindness and a soft word to the beings around you; You do not know their journey. Your words can be the hug they need or the shove that breaks them.
