I do not mean to oversimplify the issue, but in short, he needs to eat more. If unwanted weight loss is occuring, he could reverse a few "tricks" for losing weight. In other words... 1. Drink fruit juice. 2. Eat larger portions. 3. Eat more often. 4. Add some fats such as avocados, nuts, and seeds (if dealing with a chronic disease, I would avoid this addition as much as possible).
