Do you have a favorite vegan snack??? Maybe you make energy bars? a favorite fruit..
mine is apricots.... ripe ones.. when i bite into them the juice just runs down the front... unfortunately even i can't stand to be around me a couple of hours after i eat them...bad.. really bad.. worse than beans bad.. go stand outside bad..enough to choke the cat..

the second favorite is watermelon.. thank goodness a safe one.. only trouble is i can't get good ones in the winter around here...

*lol* You're awesome, Cynthia. Smile

I love:
-- Gnu Foods Flavor & Fiber Bars
-- Pink Lady Apples
-- raw veggies with Walden Farms dressing to dip
-- hummus with Joseph's Mediterranean Bakery Low-Carb Pita Bread
-- Baba Ghanoush!

If I'm really hungry, but still between meals, I'll make a veggie burger with a Boca Vegan patty and a Food for Life Ezekiel Gluten-Free Wheat-Free Bun (orange package). I make a little "secret sauce" with reduced sugar ketchup, dijon mustard, and Spectrum Light Canola Mayonnaise. That plus a handful of raw veggies keeps me full for 2 or 2 1/2 hours, for less than 300 calories.

we make granola balls - instead of baking them in a bar pan, we use a small scoop to make balls golf ball size (give or take) that way there's no cutting and such involved. Ingredients are nut butter (any sort or combination of types, liquid sweetener of any sort - we usually use agave but maple syrup and honey also work, rolled oats, whole wheat flour, a few sweet spices like cinnamon, and any assortment of chopped nuts and dried fruits)

Obviously, discretion is needed in eating them due to the nut butter and such but they are wonderful carry-along snacks for car trips and when we do craft fairs.

This might be odd, but I like a potatoe. It's quick and easy and satisfying when I'm hungry. I also like refried beans and baked chips Smile

If I'm craving something sweet, I'll make a mixed fruit bowl: frozen blueberries, a sliced banana, some raisins or dried apricots, and whatever miscellaneous fruit I have on hand. If you put the blueberries in the microwave for about 20 seconds first, they'll be completely thawed out.

I've been buying frozen blueberries in the largest bag I can find so that I can include a handful in my smoothie every morning.

If I'm in the mood for something carb-y, I'll often make a veggie wrap with some hummus, or I'll saute some veggies in a small amount of anatto oil and eat with beans and spinach - all rolled up into a whole wheat tortilla. After I've sauteed the veggies, I turn up the burner and just lay the tortilla in the bottom of the pan for a few seconds on each side. It give me the crunch that I'm usually craving.
And the anatto oil gives the veggies a nice golden color and a really unique taste. You just need a small amount - maybe one teaspoon or so.

If I'm just in the mood to snack while watching TV or reading, I either eat baby carrots or popcorn. Those times are few and far between now, thank goodness.

I like a potato too! Tasty and filling. But only if I'm really peckish.

I also like to snack on a honey crisp apple or some air popped popcorn. Or, some homemade hummus (my current favorite is roasted red pepper hummus) and some lite crackers or pretzel thins, or veggies.

Sometime I'll just eat some leftovers. Soup is particularly nice for a snack. Or, if I don't have lefoveers, I'll have a McDougall cup of soup.

Sounds like you and I have the same tastes, Pippin! *yum* Smile

Peanut butter & jam sandwich. This is often my bedtime snack, after which all hunger has been satisfied and I am ready to sleep.

The bread is pumpernickel; the peanut butter is "reduced fat"; the jam is sugar-free.

I am trying to gain some weight, so this snack packs quite a lot of calories.

When I was pregnant with DS, lo, these many years ago, my standard midnight snack (literally, my job required me to be up until around 1 to 2 am, but I could sleep in until 10 or so most days) was a PBJ. A good creamy PB and a nice all-fruit jam (seedless raspberry, apricot, and ever ppular strawberry were my favs...with occasional ventures to other flavors) and I was happy.

Hi
Speaking of Peanut Butter & Jelly.. have you ever tried pan frying it??? We saw on the food channel that there is a store that sell NOTHING but PB & J .. and some were fried.
hubby tired it; just a teene tiny bit of vegan margarine;just enough to get bread toasted... way good...
its even good as pb & banana

walnuts & raisins, a bowl of microwaved frozen veggies, Larabars are really good, but I only eat them when I'm bicycling because they're not low cal. Seasonal fruit. Right now I have some of the most luscious, delicious oranges on my desk, I have one every day.a handful of almonds, anything left over from dinner that's not enough for a full meal, like the last bit of beans.
