Couldn't get into Forum......confused
Posted Sunday, February 7, 2010 at 7:18 PM
Ok folks.................I remember a few weeks back Sereene, Shana and a few other people saying they were having issues getting onto the Forum. Well.....my computer got a virus and after I got it out I tried to get back on the Forum for days and was not able to. Was there any resolve to establishing another link or something? Also, Sereene and Veganreceipe guy...........I was going to e-mail you to see how you were getting onto the forum but you do not have a web site address for contact? Im very confused but am glad I was able to get back on this afternoon.

I'm not sure how other people are getting on, but I just click the link in my mailbox.

I keep the URL you gave us some time back on my "Favorites." Is the one in your mail box a different one.........or do you know?

Either one works, but the one in your email takes you straight to that thread. Boards have been very quiet lately. I have signed up for the March kick start but haven't see anything about the forums yet.

Like last time, a new March forum won't be active until right before the Kickstart begins.

Perhaps one of the reasons it has been so quiet is because my computer contracted a virus and I had to wait for it to be fixed. Wild4stars I am glad to see that you have stuck it out because I saw earlier you were tired of trying to hassle with getting into the forum. Im just not sure if my problems are the URL or my computer??????? Do you know what link you are using? Man..............I felt like I was totally lost without plugging all of your brains! Ha!

I am looking forward to March too. I love the receipes and menu the 21 day Kickstart provides. Although, I must admit that it has forced me to venture out and try knew receipes. I found a two week menu on the PETA web site but many of the receipes do not necessarily call for whole grains or low fat.

I just click on the link in the email. Otherwise you have to go to the main forum page for the January kickstart and then search for the thread you want to respond to. http://21daykickstart.org/forum/forums.cfm Hope that helps.

I've gotten pretty good at subbing out the high-fat ingredients. For example, I will sub in apple sauce for oil in baked goods almost everytime. I'm pretty used to the healthier taste.

Yes, this address is the same one I am getting into the forum with. I have not gone through the actual MD web site. However, on my e-mails, the link does not work. I think this is what you all were talking about a few weeks ago but Im not sure.

Bluesgyrl, the email links are working fine for me. Hmm. Wonder why they don't for you? Are your email links to 21daykickstart.org, or to the dev.pcrm.org site, like the old ones? Maybe you need to resubscribe by going to your options.

So Susan you can substitue apple sauce for all fats? For example this morning I made scones which called for vegetable shortening. COuld I have replaced the shortening with an equal amount of apple sauce? Serene- I have been getting into the forums via the 21daykickstartforum. However, you are correct. The links that I can't get into are through pcrm (I think that's the acronym). Last one received was 1/29. Was that he last day of the program? If so, that would make sense. I have your website (which I love) on my "Favorites" also and was going to write to you to ask how to get in but couldn't figure out how to write through your web site? We (my whole family) loved the chick pea gravy! It was fantastic. Going to try you baba ganouj (spelling) too!

Apple sauce subbing for shortening would probably result in quite a different outcome. One that most people wouldn't enjoy. However, I'd probably do it.

http://store.sunsweet.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=store&Product_Code=260[url] Sunsweet makes a product that can be used in place of oil, butter or shortening. It is thicker than applesauce. You buy it in the baking supply aisle. In my store it's near the spice area. I don't do a lot of baking but I have used it and it works. Hope that helps!
