What is your food today Sun Jan 23?

Hi All,
Today is a new recipe for me.. vegan with a vengence has a veggie buger recipe made with tempah to hold it together. I am going to give it a try.

I have to sit down and plan a few meals today.. i would like to find a recipe for avacado hummus. sounds good huH? I could use that in the sandwiches....omg..

b-cereal, banana
l-leftovers.. soup
d-veggie burger and mexican corn salad

snacks.. pear, nuts, and maybe a small bowl of chips.

So what is your food today?

Yesterday I did the breakfast tortilla from the day Dr. McDougall was the guest and it was awesome! I'm going for that this morning. I cut the recipe down yesterday to see if I liked it, today I think I will make the whole thing and freeze portions for later in the week.

This afternoon I'm also going to make my veggie soup staple for lunches this week as well as another veggie soup that was in the paper this week.

So the plan for today:

Breakfast: McDougall Breakfast tortilla

Lunch: Hummus, pita, salad, fruit

Dinner: Sweet potato, slaw, and if I get around to making them, the tiramisu cupcakes in the *fab cupcakes* thread!

well.. my cereal turned into a grilled hummus, tempah, tomato, & spinach sandwich.. kg had already worked out and was hungry... and there is no way i am saying no to that sandwich..yumm
he used spinach articoke hummus today..

Can I just say the french toast breakfast and chili mac dinner recipes today were AMAZING. Totally keeping those handy.

I'm kind of sad this is over! I plan on continuing with this, but I really liked having a week of meals kind of planned out. It helped me stay on track so much.

Anyway, here's my final blog post - overall rants, plus today's food.

Hi Lisa,
ok you convinced me to try the chili mac! love your blog.. you might as well continue... and maybe post occasional pic?
you say by the end of the year you might reach your goal weight... looking at your pic... i wouldn't think you had anything to lose at all..?
I have to agree that it was a surprise to me just how much my eating is determined by not wanting to kill animals...I always had the idea somewhere that it felt wrong.. that we didn't have to eat them.. and toyed with the thought of vegetarian, but really didn't have any guidence.
I had no idea how my food was produced.. and the more i heard and saw the less i liked it. It really solidified for me that i didn't want beef & chicken anymore. Plus i am like 50 now.. when i was a kid, beef tasted different. It was better, I don't know how to explain except to say hamburg tasted more like filet.. there was a beefy flavor to it.. now beef and chicken are quite bland.
