Glad to see people still posting here

Last Kickstart, everyone went away pretty quickly and I got lonesome <sniff>. I hope everyone hangs around; some of us need inspiration every day, not just in 21-day spurts.

I stumbled upon the last forum long after nearly everyone had left. I rattled around mostly by myself, until suddenly it all went away. I was irked, to say the least. No reason to leave, is there?

I am more than willing to continue communicating, encouraging, supporting, empathizing and informing. Though far from being expert in these areas have been acquiring more knowledge, thanks to this great resource and others such as thrive30 hosted by Brendan Brazier (I have absolutely no connection to him but recently registered to his free program and this has helped supplement/reinforce the information provided here). Also, books such as Will Tuttle's World Peace Diet, Dr. Joel Fuhrman's Eat to Live, Extraordinary Healing by Dr. Art Brownstein and Ultraprevention by Drs. Hyman and Liponis, just to name a few. There are so many excellent books and websites related to the issues of human health, the effects of our agriculture/food system/food politics, animal welfare/rights advocacy & activism. The list is endless. I really need to organize the mind-boggling amount of material and upload it somewhere. So, let's keep the ball rolling. I can also be reached at: npauthor@earthlink.net. Hope it's okay to post here. Ron Landskroner Oakland, CA

I am glad to see people still posting as well. I need the support because I can easily forget all the hard work and dedication I just made over the last 3 weeks at the sight of a wheel of ripe brie so hang in ther guys and lets keep encouraging one another and sharing new recipes, etc...!! Pam

OK, then let's pledge to keep posting here as long as PCRM will have us. Sometimes I feel so isolated and need the community of other like-minded people. Yesterday the female attorney in our office brought in her homemade minestrone but it had (gasp!) sausage in it. So I didn't have any, nor any of the delicious looking white bread she'd brought. Instead, I stuck to my own homemade Tuscan soup and no bread. It's hard to be strong without support.

Good for you! That is always hard to stick with it when you are alone. It was very hard for me to give up bread, much less FRESH bread. Two nights ago my sister and I had a big salad and bake some mochi (it puffs up and is crusty/chewy) and it really almost felt like we had bread. It was a nice alternative for us. Stick with it and one day it won't be as much of a challenge and you will be healthier for it, the animals happier!

Ocean, I was rewarded by a reduction in the weight on my scale this morning. Just finished up the awesome Moroccan Chickpea Stew I had made for guests on Saturday night; I did have a whole wheat pita with hummus with that ... and a banana instead of the fig bars which are calling to me from the cupboard. It's snowing like gangbusters outside and I am home from work for the day. It's hard when it's snowing ... that's when I want some comfort food.

Congratulations on the weight loss! Hooray!! I have not had success in weight loss as of yet. I am still in a difficult living arrangement but that changes in June or so. I did recently purchase a bike that I use a "trainer" with so I can use it indoors now and out when I move. My hope is when I move and have a kitchen again, I will drop some weight. As it is, I hover around one weight and never seem to change much. Unfortunately, it is too high! Keep up the good work and I love to hear about your success! Best Wishes, Kym

The morrocan stew sounds wonderful. I love food like that, but I am the only one in the family who does (although some won't even try- argh). I made a vegan minestrone yesterday for my 5-year-old. It is her new favorite food, I am glad about that because she is not much of a veggie eater. I will continue to check in, I love this forum. In the past I have had a hard time finding it without the link in the daily emails, so now I have it bookmarked.
