What is your food Wed Jan 26th?
Posted Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at 8:08 AM
Hi!! so today i watched Taking Control of Diabetes DVD with Dr Neal Barnard. It was good. It inspired me to make oatmeal this am.. with frozen strawberries, cinnamon and soy milk. Lunch-Carrot/Celery soup w/carrot, pineapple & coconut muffin... dinner.. black bean pattie, with frozen Alexis sweet potato fries and a frozen vegetable.. I think i have to ditch my potato chip snacks.. one i bought chips that are not yummy.. hannaford brand.. so that will be easy.. i will have to find a new go to.. maybe i will try mango.. saw that on the dvd.. So what is your food today? Cynthia ** update** reading posts from yesterday's food.. veganer made a yummy sounding smoothie for dessert.. perhaps that would be my new snack at night..sounds good.. strawberry banana smoothie!

Banana Cereal with plant milk two small fresh from the oven whole wheat bagels... yes, I put cream cheese on them - I was letting myself have anything I wanted after nothing solid until the banana at about 10 this morning (liquid diet yesterday prepping for colonoscopy first thing this morning). Dinner is black bean patties with homemade pickles, ketchup, on a bagel and maybe some veggie slaw on the side depending on how my insides feel --Deb R

I've seen it but it's soy based (tofu) and I can't comfortably do soy in big chunks like that (major PMS like hormone stuff happens - ick). Generally I pick other stuff for my bagel topping but today is a 'unique' situation and I really did not want PBJ (the only vegan option on hand just now). I knew Nutella would not be a good choice and we don't have any hummus or anything made up. --Deb R

Kind of a boring day food-wise, nothing too spectacular to share unfortunately. But I am glad to feel like I'm back on track at least after my cheese pizza binge on Monday :/ B - bagel w/Earth Balance, banana L - veggie burger on arnold's sandwich thin with stone ground mustard and lettuce D - homemade quesadilla with vegetarian re-fried beans, tofutti sour cream and hot salsa

Breakfast: oatmeal with frozen berries Snack: orange, raisins Lunch: whole wheat wrap spread with Aldi's(Benita) fat free refried beans and a layer of spinach leaves, rolled up and cut like a Veggie in a Blanket(cut in pieces that look like little rolls) Dinner: Mashed Grains(using millet) and Cauliflower Dessert: Chocolate Cherry Nirvana Smoothie(created by Katherine Lawrence)(similar): frozen unsweetened cherries, a banana, Hershey's cocoa powder, and rice milk in a Cook's one-cup mini-blender. Delicious! Cynthia, did you try the strawberry banana smoothie?

veggies4me.. did you ever wind up trying the method of soaking and cooking your own beans? I remember you were just using canned beans for a while..just wondering.

Can you believe I bought those beans, but they are still sitting in the cabinet??? It sounds so easy -- I'll get to it one of these days!!!
