I think it's great that the diet plan encourages people to learn to choose vegan options when they eat out, but I think people need to be made aware of the hidden animal products in even vegetable options. Refried beans at Mexican restaurants are often made with lard and vegetable fried rice is often made with eggs & chicken broth. Asking them to leave it out doesn't guarantee that they will either, a friend of mine who is allergic to shellfish was once assured that her meal was shellfish-free, yet she was swelling up within minutes of eating. I'm not saying NEVER eat out, just be careful when you do because even a side of vegetables can sometimes cooked with chicken broth.
