Hello everyone, I'm pretty new to all this. Just read alicia Silverstone's The kind Diet and have since given up dairy and flirting with vegeterian. I hope this helps me gain the knowledge I need to eat vegan and still be healthy. Happy To be here!!!

I'm pretty new to all this too, although hubby & I decided a few months ago that we were going to start eating more meatless meals throughout the week. My teenage son went vegetarian for around 2 years though, so I did learn how to come up with some really good meals. I've been wanting to read "The Kind Diet". I was hoping to get it for Christmas & still have one more family Christmas on Jan. 2nd, so if I don't get it then, I will go ahead & buy it for myself. I had no idea that she had a website though; it looks really interesting & informative! Look forward to getting to know you all & going through this journey together! Rebecca

I'm going to wait til the paperback comes out in spring . It's cheaper. Alicia's book sounds awesome. I've been vegan now for several years now so I'm really looking forward to reading it.

I am so excited to start this program too. I have been a vegetarian for 4 years and want to go to the next step. Giving up meat was very easy since I never really liked it anyway. Cheese is gonna be hard. I tried to do this last New Years but failed after a few weeks because it was only me. Now I have the support of this site and all the people involved and I am so happy to have you all. I plan to buy and read Alicia's book very soon and also Peta's college cookbook, though I am not in college, it promises lots of quick (and cheap) vegan recipes.

Hi All, I have been meatless (no meat, chicken, fish) for about a year and half now and cut down significantly on dairy but cheese is the toughest. I am hoping to get and give support on this site.

Dairys been the hardest for me as well. I got really sick a few weeks ago and had to stay away due to fever and its been easier since then. I do feel less bloated without the dairy and my constipation issues are gone.
