RE: Meal plan and snacks

This is my first post. I hope this works??!
I received my copy of the mealplan. Is there a quantity amount I should be eating? You can tell I'm used to the old traditional diets that count points, calories, etc. I know I can't eat an entire recipe of something if I want to lose weight, but what if I'm still hungry?
Are there any other snacks I can have?
Gee, can you tell why I have a weight problem? I'm focused on how much I get to eat.
This is one of those learning curves that ends in freedom and joy. I know what you mean about counting, weighing measuring....it is an old system that is, frankly, based on different and varying techniques to control calories. It is, after all, about calories when it comes to weight. And with the SAD, reigning them in with these control measures is essential for most.
But it is also a loosing proposition because when we don't get to eat according to our hunger and fullness signals, we're going to sooner or later (usually sooner) face hunger. And then its all over, am I right?
When you engineer out non-fiber, high fat foods and fill your plate with whole foods, avoid expelled oils and foods without bulk, your appetite can be your guide. As wild4stars points out, fat content in food DOES matter. Here's a post that might be of assist: Is The Fat You Eat The Fat You'll Wear?
I like the simple guidelines of half your day's food being wholegrain or starchy veggies, the other half veggies, throw a couple of fruits in and about a cup of beans and you're there. It's a wonderful way to love.
Glad you're here!
