Eating more or less often than three meals per day
Posted Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 9:30 PM

Hi all,

I guess I'll be kicking off a little earlier than most others as I am in New Zealand and the 1st of January will hit me in about 8 hours Smile

My post however is about how often to eat. Recently I've been trying the Fast-5 way of eating in which I have only been eating during a 5 hour window each day. Then there are some other books I have read which recommend eating around six times per day, and then others which recommend sticking to the normal three meals per day.

Does anyone else eat differently than the normal three meals per day? I'm trying to decide whether to keep going with Fast-5 and just eat vegan during those 5 hours, or just adopt a more normal eating pattern during the kickstart.

Regards
Tony

I think the most 'normal' choice for me is to eat when I feel truly hungry in my stomach, then eat until satisfied (not stuffed). That is my goal anyway. Good luck to you.

I will NOT stick to a food plan if I let myself get really hungry, and it's super-easy to get really hungry if you don't eat often enough when eating vegan foods. I eat whenever I want. After all, it's all health-promoting, delicious, good-for-me foods, so there's no reason NOT to eat when I want.

The way I eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Then snacks in between.

I have found that if I don't let myself get overly hungry, I don't over eat, and I'm not tempted by junk. SO, I eat a several small mini-meals a day. I try to always have stuff available. Grapes, apples, celery, bananas. If I feel hungry I have a small something. It works for me.
