What is your food today Wed Jan 2nd?

HI All,
so here we are.. the day after oprah's show...I can say there was a lot of talk about it.... I heard about the show at work, on the net and at home..

i think lisa ling let off cargill a little too easy when she asked, "so what is the rest of the animal used for other than meat to eat?" the lady said every part was used, it's part of respecting the animal.. comon.. it was a response but that didn't answer the question! we got to meet a meat politician.

wouldn't it be lovely if Oprah had a vegan cooking show on her new network???? or she would interview jeff about his newly released dvd.. seems she should do a follow-up if not just to help her own staff who have made the switch.

so it's all about food that nourishs you... food NOT being the focus.. not an addiction... i liked a couple of the terms used.. one guy said he no longer had food hangovers.. that pretty much sums it up..

and the term veganish is good... it could be anything from meatless mondays to just eggs to no animal purses or shoes.. no nothing.. I never did like all those terms that define different types of vegetarians.. Seems to make it special and hard... restrictive.. i like the flowing terms.. hegan..veganish.. that way it is what YOU make it, not how others have determined you should define it.. and what happens if you are one of those vegetarians that define themselves not to eat eggs.. then you do? does it change everything? I guess i don't like labeling people, or pidgon holeing them.. it's too similar to judging them... and that's not my place.

humm
well after writing all that,i guess it belongs in the other thread.. sorry..

so what is on YOUR plate or bowl today????

me..
b-oatmeal & apple..
l-white bean soup w/carrots celery mushrooms & kale.
d- red beans & rice..
s-apple and maybe an orange..

have a great day!
cynthia

I've been traveling a lot lately, so I've missed my staples (beans, greens, and grains). Last night, though, I did make a batch of red lentils with lots of spices and kale.

For breakfast I had muesli with almond milk. And now I'm heading to Thai with coworkers where I will have my favorite lunch: steamed vegetables, steamed tofu, steamed rice, with soy sauce and thai red pepper flakes.
