I don't care much for Curry and was thinking I'd omit the curry. Could I add turmeric?

Looking at the recipe, I think you could use whatever spice you want. I fix something similar that I use Italian seasoning, which is a combo of basil, oregano, thyme, rosemary and . . . not sure what all.

Hey Aleta! Nice to see you back, too. How have you been? I remember some pretty impressive changes to your numbers during the last Kickstart. Wasn't it your sister who joined you, too? How's it all going?

hi again,
It was not my sister. I tried to get my daughter to go back to vegan. She was for 3 years but now vegetarian.
I am glad that the site is up again. I really need the help here.
Glad to see you too. Very Happy

Turmeric is a great anti-inflammatory! Use it anytime you like!

Haven't tried the recipe since I cook for one and am NOT a kitchen person! I do like Amy's Lentil soup, which I add curry powder, along with a bit of chile powder to, but have found a great item in my "country style" market's bulk section. It's a curried lentil soup mix. I add some to my pan along with enough water, more curry powder of course, and then throw in my veggies. Makes a great base for the dish. I'm lucky to have a Costco in my town, and they carry an 8-pack of Amy's Lentil and Minestrone soups (4 each). About 25% sodium, but I use them on occasion for a basis for veggie dishes. Really use little canned or packaged foods. Don't need the additives or sodium!
