Mother's Day

Hi everyone - I received the following email this morning from I group I belong to called Liberation BC. Have a look and if you're interested in supporting this worthy cause and "advertising" the plight of mother cows everywhere, you can order your ribbbon. I now know through PCRM that dairy products are a scourge for humans, but it also seem appropriate to remember the sentient beings those products come from - and the suffering they endure all so we can clog our arteries with milk meant for their babies. Hope you don't mind me sending this along...just thought some of you may be interested too. Cheers! What does Mother’s Day mean to you? Does it mean losing your children, one after another? That’s what it means for millions of dairy cows. But you can help change things for cows this Mother’s Day by ordering and wearing your Mother’s Day cow ribbon.
You can get your own ribbon at www.cowribbon.com. Wear your cow ribbon on Mother’s Day (May 9) and show your support for the mothers of the dairy industry. The goal is to have hundreds of people wearing ribbons on Mother’s Day and thousands of people getting ecards, reading messages on facebook, and more. We need your help to spread the message. Visit www.cowribbon.com to send ecards, share this campaign on facebook, donate and order more ribbons, download flyers, and more. Cows must give birth every year in order to produce milk – so farmers impregnate them and then take the babies away as soon as they are born. Many of the female calves are raised to become dairy cows. The males are sold to become veal. In the dairy industry, male calves are worth almost nothing. This mother’s day, wear your cow ribbon as a symbol of your concern for these suffering and abused mothers. Please take a stand and speak out for them. Every mother deserves to know and love her children, don’t you think? Thanks for all you do for the animals.
