I am not missing any of my old foods now as I have found wonderful replacements from vegan 'cheese' to vegan chocolate chip cookies.
I made chocolate chocolate chip pecan cookies from Veganomicon last night - yumm! Not low fat or low sugar but it was just what we needed after yet another winter storm.
I did buy some cheddar cheese the other day as my dog had surgery. The only way to get her to take her tablets without a big fuss/fight is to put it in a bit of cheese. So, cheese is back in the house (I got rid of it during the kickstart) and I am not at all tempted to eat it. I got rid of my cheese addiction and to me... cheese is now dog food(in small amounts of course. I dont want to make my dog sick!)
Be sure that dairy is not contra-indicated with the meds (for example, if it's an antibiotic, no cheese).
Last night, we had nachos (hubby didn't want to do much cooking after dealing with the snow and ice in the driveway). We were low on the not-cheese sauce, so after one serving with that, hubby had one serving with our 'usual' mild cheddar shredded onto it. He said that, after having had both in kind of a side by side taste test, he actually prefers the not-cheese sauce.
