This is funny -- I had to share....

This is one whole month eating vegetarian -- no dairy or meat of any kind. Tonigh I made hot air popcorn for a snack and grabbed my container of (what I thought was) nutritional yeast.

I'm eating the popcorn and am missing the nutritional yeast flavor, which I like on the popcorn. I shake some more on, put the container down and realized it was parmasan cheese!!! OOOpps!
(i put my yeast in an old shaker container)

It's really funny how I didn't even want the cheese and missed my nutritional yeast.

Haha, I keep my yeast in an old Parmesan shaker as well. It got a strange look from a recent houseguest. But to me, it's much more delicious! Smile

Thanks for sharing that story. I had a big smile on my face when I read it, thinking that we don't have to be perfect but we are all still trying hard.

I am not missing any of my old foods now as I have found wonderful replacements from vegan 'cheese' to vegan chocolate chip cookies.

I did buy some cheddar cheese the other day as my dog had surgery. The only way to get her to take her tablets without a big fuss/fight is to put it in a bit of cheese. So, cheese is back in the house (I got rid of it during the kickstart) and I am not at all tempted to eat it. I got rid of my cheese addiction and to me... cheese is now dog food(in small amounts of course. I dont want to make my dog sick!)

I made chocolate chocolate chip pecan cookies from Veganomicon last night - yumm! Not low fat or low sugar but it was just what we needed after yet another winter storm.

Be sure that dairy is not contra-indicated with the meds (for example, if it's an antibiotic, no cheese).

Last night, we had nachos (hubby didn't want to do much cooking after dealing with the snow and ice in the driveway). We were low on the not-cheese sauce, so after one serving with that, hubby had one serving with our 'usual' mild cheddar shredded onto it. He said that, after having had both in kind of a side by side taste test, he actually prefers the not-cheese sauce. Very Happy
