shopping list creation

How can a shopping list be generated from the chosen recipes? I opened one recepe and found a printable version with a list of ingredients. Am I missing something. This is my first day and attempt on this.

If you're logged in, you just click the "Add to Shopping List" at the top of each recipe you're interested in. Then when you're done, there's a "Your Shopping List" link on the left.

I was not pleased with the initial shopping list. I realize it specifies it is a list of "staples", but I got everything on the list and then was surprised, this morning, to find out I didn't have the ingredients to make the recipes for the first day of the kickstart diet menu! In fact, I think there was at least one ingredient missing from every single recipe.

Harumph. Will try again tomorrow.

You're supposed to use the basics list as a starting point, and then add the stuff for the recipes you choose off the menus. But enough people have wanted a complete list that I think it would be a good idea to have it somewhere so that those who do want to do all the recipes can have a nice complete list.

(Me, I don't have it in me to be cooking 3 or 4 new recipes every day, so I made my own menus, made up of mostly stuff I've cooked a thousand times.)
