First day almost over (east coast)

I want to thank everyone who is posting and answering and viewing and generally getting involved!!! I've never participated in something like this, posting etc. and I have to tell you the support is incredible! I have made it thru the day with no added fat in my food and no animal products. It feels pretty good.

This doesn't feel like a "Diet". We can do this Laughing

Blessings to everyone.

May the wind be always at your back and may unconditional love surround you and keep you close.

Happy New Year to all and many thanks for all your comments, helpful suggestions and encouragement, especially Serene. The resources you all passed on are incredible..My copier is in overload from printing out recipes! I celebrated the new year with healthy food choices and I adapted the buckwheat pancake recipe adding a touch of vanilla, mashed banana&pecans...have to have my MUFA'S!..I loved them and no oil or butter. My ? is: what can I substitute for raisins in recipes?..not a raisin lover.
Blessings and good health from my cold Michigan home to yours, Gramma Very Happy

Ooh, gramma, your pancakes sound divine!

Are the raisins in the recipe there as the only sweetener? If not, I'd just leave them out. My kid hates them, too, so when I make hot cereal for both of us, I leave out the raisins until the food's in my bowl.

(If you post the recipe in question, I bet folks will have ideas for substitutions, but one possibility is chopped dates.)
