My Vegan Dessert

I thought I would start some threads that are VERY specific to meals...so that everyone could post what they are eating for this meal on this kickstart.

I hope that all the old-timers and great cooks out there will also post ideas and meals that they've prepared in the past...to give all of us newbies inspiration!

I'll start!

The easiest vegan dessert is simply fresh fruit in season. I like to sprinkle on some uncooked oatmeal and cinnamon in the winter.

While I was flirting with veganism in December, I decided to make all my holiday baking vegan. My favorite was the Pignoli Almond Cookies from "Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar"...which I did without the pine nuts to make more of a almond macaroon.

Making vegan desserts is something I want to explore!

Boring.....try sticking frozen bananas and mango in your blender for a fabulous pure, raw and delicious sorbet topped with date syrup and shredded coconut, now we're talk'n. Oh and add raw cacao nibs just for haha's.

We don't tend to do dessert around here, but most of the things I do make that are sweet (cake, cinnamon rolls, etc.) are either vegan already or easily veganizable. But they're not health food by any means and I don't have much of a sweet tooth, so I don't usually bother.

My partner loves sweet things, but he has diabetes, so when he wants something sweet, he walks to the store (1 mile) to get it. Smile
