cholesteral
Posted Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 9:23 AM

My husband and I have been vegan for approx. 15 years, he did occasionally eat cookies and cakes when out visiting because he said he couldn't see any eggs or milk in it. For the past 6 months he's been 100% vegan. A month and 1/2 ago he had a stroke and is fine now but was found to have high cholesteral. The doctors said that because of his diet it must be hereditary and prescribed lipitor. He will go shortly for a follow up appt. to see if his cholesteral has come down. Is there anything natural that we can do to bring down his cholesteral?

The only natural thing that brings down cholesterol is fiber. You can raise good cholesterol by exercising. Good cholesterol, or HDL, is "good" because it is the cholesterol that is poised to be excreeted with the fiber.
