Buying food
Posted Monday, January 4, 2010 at 10:55 AM

We purchase our food at local farmers market when available. We like to support our neighbors.
Stores with organic sections. We buy in bulk whenever possible. Trader Joes for numerous vegan items. Costco has organic sugar in some stores-organic ketchup-cereals-coffees and soy milk. Holiday market-we live near Redding,CA.
All the best.

Costco and Sam's are great for bulk beans.
You can get pinto and black beans dry for dirt-cheap.
I always keep stocked up on dry beans and brown rice which is also helpful for making food for my three dogs.

You can also get nice big bags of raw nuts, like pecans and walnuts, at Costco.
