Posted Monday, January 4, 2010 at 1:01 PM most dried pasta doesn't contain eggs. fresh pasta usually does. bread it depends. susan listed some guidelines in another thread, about how much fiber to look for, etc. but i like Vermont Bread Co. or The Baker or Eziekiel Sprouted brands. (sometimes the Eziekiel ones are in the freezer section.) a quick way to check for dairy and eggs is to look at the allergens statement at the end of the ingredients. a lot of commercial bread is full of junk though. i go for ones with 5 or fewer pronounceable ingredients, whole grain as the first ingredient, and (obviously) no animal ingredients. hope that helps!
