vegan sliced cheese

I know about Daiya cheese and use it for cooking. I am having trouble finding a sliced vegan cheese that isn't slimy. Galaxy makes rice cheese, but I can't stand the texture. Does anyone know of a better cheese?

Teese and Follow Your Heart are slice-friendly. Follow Your Heart is easier to find.

I like the follow your heart for slicing. Though I will say it does take a bit of getting used to consistency wise. I did try the galaxy rice and it didn't do it for me either. Daiya definitely takes the cake on flavor as far as vegan cheeses. Dang why can't they make small blocks of it for us. haha I have noticed since going vegan last December, I rarely use the vegan cheeses on things that I would have caked real cheese on before. I LOVED real cheese. But I have been happy with the Daiya when I really need a cheese fix haha.

Where can this Daiya cheese be found? In a Whole Foods Market, maybe? I'm in Jacksonville, Florida. Thanks for any info!

It is with the other veggie cheese's. It is shredded & it comes in a little clear container. ETA: Here is their website. You might be able to find somewhere close to you http://www.daiyafoods.com/where/index.aspx

I really like Veganrella! They come in blocks so you can slice or grate. It's a little harder to find, but way better than Follow Your Heart in my opinion. Use vegan cheeses in moderation though, it's easy to over-consume highly processed foods just as with an omnivorous diet. Stick to whole foods and fresh fruits and veggies and use processed foods and fatty treats sparingly!

Hey txdoglover, I was just ordering some stuff over at veganessentials.com and saw that they sell the Daiya unshredded. Thought you might be interested: http://store.veganessentials.com/daiya-5-lb-bulk-vegan-cheese-blocks-p2826.aspx

thanks, dollgirl. I use veganessentials and buy the shredded, but didn't realize they had blocks. I think I'll try that since I know I like Daiya. The pizzas are good too, they use daiya, but I have to use a bunch of herbs and spices to give it flavor!!
