Hi sands,
When you go to these functions take something small that isn't perishable with you that can be kept in your bag or brief case, such as a bag of carrot sticks, or a mix of dried fruit with alomonds(if you like nuts) or a piece of in season fruit as your snack. If lunches are being provided at the confrences take a look at what your options are(if any)and go for the vegan friendly fair even if it is just salad.

sands1, I am very interested in hearing whether or not the kickstart helps you to lower your cholesterol. My husband had borderline LDL and high HDL (& high total Chol), not requiring meds since HDL so high. He followed the 21 day kickstart to try to get the LDL down. He continued to eat no added fat vegan for several weeks after that as well (followed the Engine 2 diet). He is already a healthy eater and I can vouch that he did not cheat. His LDL cholesterol actually went up a few points. We were both so disappointed. We are beginning to believe that some people just have higher LDL cholesterol than others.

kando: cholesterol is not just what you eat, but
also genetically what your liver produces. the cholesterol that your liver produces is not something you can control but what you eat is
something you may control. sands1
