Fatty Food Spokesperson Dies at Age 29
Blair River, a spokesperson for Arizona’s Heart Attack Grill, died today at the age of 29. The Heart Attack Grill, based in Chandler, Ariz., is a diner-style restaurant whose menu features “Single,” Double,” “Triple,” and “Quadruple Bypass” burgers as well as “Flatliner Fries” cooked in lard. Its website boasts, “Over 350 Pounds? Eat For Free!” as well as the warning, “In some case mild death may occur.”
River weighed 575 pounds at the end of his life and died of pneumonia. Studies have shown that obesity increases the risk of respiratory complications, including pneumonia. River’s body mass index was greater than 60 kg/m2 which put him in the highest risk category.
