Covance Preparing to Build Testing Facility in Arizona
Covance, one of the worlds largest contract testing companies, is preparing to build a 400,000 square foot experimentation facility in Chandler, Ariz. New Journal Article Urges Use of Animal Serum-Free Cell Culture
A paper written by PCRM scientists and doctors that appears in the March issue of Trends in Biotechnology recommends the use of animal serum-free media to grow live cells. Fetal bovine serum (FBS) is the most commonly used medium, but its use raises ethical, scientific, and safety concerns. Learn more >

Doctors may not know what their patients are willing to do to improve their own health. A survey of cardiologists found that although many knew about the potential life-saving effects of low-fat vegetarian diets for their heart patients, most did not recommend them on the belief that their patients would not comply.
