The Physicians Committee Medical Simulation Fund
The Physicians Committee seeks to improve patient outcomes, enhance health care provider readiness, and replace animals in medical training. Through the Simulation Fund, which launched in January 2025, we purchase medical simulation technology for universities, medical centers, and medical device companies.
Awardees must commit through a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to using the simulation technology to replace the current use of live animals. While this program seeks to be a bridge, it cannot provide equipment in perpetuity. Awardees must demonstrate plans to cover the cost of nonanimal methods after the period outlined in the MOU.
The Physicians Committee would prefer to publicly announce the purchase of equipment via its website, messages to supporters, and news releases, but such announcements can be negotiated with awardees.
