Nutrition Education for Medical Students
Resources for Incorporating Nutrition in Medicine
The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine is committed to preparing next-generation physicians and other health care professionals with plant-based resources to change the future of patient care. The Physicians Committee offers plant-based education tools to medical and nursing students to increase awareness of nutrition education in educational institutions.
Lunch and Learns for Medical and Nursing Schools
We offer Lunch and Learns in medical and nursing schools across the United States and worldwide to bring plant-based education to your institution. The most common lecture topics include diabetes prevention and treatment, heart disease, hypertension, obesity, and food addiction. The Physicians Committee covers any costs, including honorarium and travel costs for the physician or dietitian expert, literature shipment, and catering for the event.
Curriculum Presentations for Your School
These presentations, developed by dietitians and physicians, highlight research on nutrition interventions for common chronic diseases and conditions. Suggestions for use include integration into the pre-clinical curriculum, clinical electives, lunchtime educational talks, or interest group events. They may be delivered by anyone at your institution who is familiar with the referenced material. Download for full access to PowerPoint slides and presentation scripts.
