Alexandra Lessem, DNP, FNP, is a family nurse practitioner with certifications in plant-based nutrition from eCornell University and lifestyle medicine from the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine. For her doctoral capstone, she completed a project in which 30 other health care providers learned about and followed a plant-based diet for three weeks utilizing the Physicians Committee's 21-Day Vegan Kickstart as a guide. Dr. Lessem is passionate about treating the underlying causes of diseases and incorporating nutritional and lifestyle interventions into patient care and is currently working on implementing a lifestyle medicine program at her clinic with a physician colleague. She cares for all ages of patients with a wide range of conditions including prenatal and postpartum care.
