Dr. Giebel graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine. After doing a residency in ophthalmology at Loma Linda University Medical Center, he completed a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at the University of California at Irvine. He earned a certificate in plant-based nutrition from the Center for Nutrition Studies and Cornell University.

The techniques published from his research on cornea transplants are now widely used today. He has served as faculty at Loma Linda University, University of California at Irvine, and Pacific Northwest University. He is board-certified in ophthalmology and lifestyle medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.

He currently practices at Lifestyle Eye Center in both Washington and Oregon. He enjoys helping people see better through state-of-the-art surgery and optimizing their vision via healthy choices.
