Dr. Thieme offers all aspects of eye care including eye health exams for glasses and contact lenses, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and surgical care of cataract and LASIK patients. He has a whole-body approach to eye disease and systemic conditions, such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol, and autoimmune diseases.

Dr. Thieme earned his plant-based nutrition certificate through eCornell in 2019. He has attended the International Plant-Based Nutrition Healthcare Conference yearly since 2017. After growing up eating the standard American diet, he and his wife Iris, now a whole food, plant-based health coach, changed their diet several years ago to adopt a healthful lifestyle. His research and dedication to health have helped his patients see how important diet and general health are to systemic disease--including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, autoimmune disease, and obesity--and eye diseases like age-related macular degeneration and glaucoma.
