Dr. Prapti Kanani is a board-certified pediatric cardiologist in solo practice in Pittsburgh since 2003. Her education includes a research cardiac fellowship at Duke University and pediatric cardiology fellowships at the University of Iowa and Children's Hospital, Boston. She provides consultations for children with heart conditions and performs and interprets pediatric EKGs and echocardiograms on site with results given during the patient visit. She also provides fetal echocardiograms and maternal-fetal consultations for pregnant women to assess for fetal cardiac defects. Her strong area of interest is in preventive cardiology, and she runs a pediatric preventive clinic to take care of children with hypertension and high cholesterol. She is a proponent of plant-based nutritional options.
