Dr. Gelber is a board-certified pediatrician with a passion for teaching and incorporating plant-based and lifestyle principles to preventive and acute care. He discouraged dairy consumption his entire 35-year career thanks to mentoring by Dr. Frank Oski during medical school. Nine years ago he had an epiphany watching Forks Over Knives and has since pursued continuing education in plant-based medicine, completing Dr. T. Colin Campbell's eCornell plant-based nutrition course in 2016. He has attended many plant-based events, including the American College of Lifestyle Medicine conference and the International Plant-Based Nutrition Healthcare Conference. His wife, Karen, shares his passion; a self-taught chef, photographer, and videographer, she produces the website VeganGlutenFreeLife.com.
