Dr. Bruce received her undergraduate degree at Rice University and her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. She completed her dermatology residency at Baylor College of Medicine in 1985 and then served on the faculty in the Baylor Department of Dermatology for 12 years. She started her own practice in 1997, and it grew to encompass medical, aesthetic, and clinical research divisions of dermatology. In 2020 the practice was acquired by Sanova Dermatology. Dr. Bruce continues to see patients in the practice and now offers her patients the added dimension of helping them address their skin diseases with whole food, plant-based nutrition. She and her husband have been 100% plant-based since 2017. She is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology. She has completed the Foundations of Lifestyle Medicine Board Review course and will be taking the exam to become board-certified by the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine in December 2022.
