Tackling Hormone-Related Cancers
Thursday, September 26, 2024 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm

September highlights awareness of ovarian and prostate cancer. In the US, ovarian cancer is the 5th leading cause of cancer death in women and prostate cancer is the 2nd leading cause of cancer death in men. Learn how what you eat affects these hormone-related cancers.

Certain cancers are significantly affected by hormones: breast, uterine, and ovarian cancer in women and prostate and testicular cancer in men. We can help regulate our hormones with the foods we eat. This class will focus on low-fat, high-fiber, plant-based foods to reduce the risk of cancer and help enhance survival for those who have been diagnosed.

Based on the book Your Body in Balance: The New Science of Food, Hormones, and Health by Neal Barnard, MD, FACC, this class addresses explains how a low-fat, high-fiber plant-based diet can have an impact on your hormone-related cancers. Dietary choices have a surprisingly powerful effect on hormones and the problems they cause. Hear the latest research that offers a new approach to treating, preventing, and even curing many of the most common and persistent health problems.
