Plant-based diets are gaining popularity because they are not only good for your heart health, but they are good for the planet! Come join us for a fun-filled two-hour-long Food for Life class and meal, where you will learn health-promoting dietary strategies that are both budget-friendly and accessible. Based on the programs of Dr. Neal Barnard, founder and president of the Physician's Committee for Responsible medicine, these strategies will help you understand the connection between diet and disease, the four basic food groups of plant-based eating and tips for starting a plant-based diet. The class features a video about eating for keeping our hearts healthy, a plant-based cooking demonstration and a healthy delicious lunch, along with a few handouts of easy and affordable recipes.
