Get serious about your health as Plant Powered Metro New York marks Men’s Health Month with a special Food for Life class series — Savoring Health: Smart Eating Strategies for Men – designed for men and the people who love them! Over three virtual sessions, our instructors will introduce you to evidence-based nutrition for healthy hearts, blood pressure, and sexual wellness. You’ll watch cooking demos and take away recipes that are simple and easy to prepare, to help you make day-to-day changes for a healthier and longer life.

In this first session, Building a Stronger Heart, we’ll dive into nutrition to optimize your cardiovascular health, learning from an instructor who reversed his obesity and heart disease — you can do it too! You’ll learn four delicious and nutritious recipes, including a simple chili recipe, marinades for grilled vegetables, and a heart-healthy dessert.

In the second session, we'll explore how plant foods can enhance sexual health, including erectile dysfunction, which is often the “canary in the coal mine” for heart disease. You'll learn exciting plant-powered recipes that are perfect for July 4th grilling, like carrot dogs and black bean burgers, plus a faux Caesar salad and “snickerbites” for dessert. 

In the third session, you'll learn about blood pressure and everything you need to know to reduce and maintain it through whole food, plant-based nutrition. Hear our take on alternative meat products, and learn how to prepare a variety of dishes, including a tofu scramble burrito, a tasty broccoli salad with tofu mayo, and a delicious avocado chocolate mousse.
