Food for Life Instructor

Dovetta Taylor

Dovetta began her vegan journey in 2015 after being diagnosed with breast cancer. With her culinary skill set and food service knowledge, she took to learning how to cook vegan and plant-based whole foods.

She would like to reach others by teaching people that they have an option when it comes to eating plant-based whole foods. She uses a “home economics” approach for teaching plant-based cooking and wants to make it something attainable for all people.

Dovetta sees this as a “good, better, best” motto that people can take with them through all stages of life–meaning from the garden to the kitchen. Dovetta has taken the Food for Life Instructor Training which is a nutrition education program of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine to help share information with others as they look for healthy and sustainable options to improve their health. She looks at plant-based eating as a group journey where we all are involved in learning something to help our families, community, and friends.
