Plant-Based Diet Improves Blood Sugar Control, Heart Health, and Quality of Life
A 12-month randomized controlled trial of 156 people with type 2 diabetes in Pakistan found that a plant-based diet reduced HbA1c by 1.3 percentage points, while also improving LDL-cholesterol, blood pressure, and inflammatory markers. The plant-based group also scored better on indices of quality of life.
