Plant Protein Linked to Reduced Risk for Gestational Diabetes; Animal Protein Associated with Higher Risk

A new study of more than 1,000 pregnant women showed that those eating the most animal protein were almost three times more likely to develop gestational diabetes than those eating the least. Meanwhile, women eating the most plant protein were less than half as likely to develop gestational diabetes than those eating the least.
