Risk of Type 2 Diabetes Increases with Meat Consumption of Any Type
A new study has examined the role that eating different types of meat plays in type 2 diabetes risk. Researchers pooled data from 31 studies that looked at the eating habits and diabetes incidence of nearly 2 million people across the globe. They found that eating more poultry, red, or processed meat all increased the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Red and processed meat had the greatest effect.
