Universal Food Guide Encourages Countries to Adopt Plant-Based Diet Recommendations
A group of international nutrition and medical experts have released a sweeping report that outlines the healthiest diet recommendations countries can adopt for the prevention of chronic disease among their citizens. These recommendations include eating 3 or more servings of legumes daily, 4 servings of fruit, 5 servings of vegetables, 3 servings of whole grains, and a serving of nuts/seeds. The authors believed this report was necessary due to rising rates of chronic disease and the pervasiveness of industry bias in current government recommendations.
