3-D Human Brain Cultures Could Improve Central Nervous System Research

Researchers have recently established a method for generating brain “organoids” from human stem cells, according to a new publication in Nature Protocols. Organoids are three-dimensional cell cultures that assemble into the same architecture as an organ from the human body. This technique may be useful in studying human brain development, diseases of the brain, and for testing novel drugs to treat those diseases.
