Marc Anderson, P.E.
Food for Life Instructor
Marc is an environmental engineer and a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma. Type 2 diabetes occurs on both sides of his family. After connecting with his extended Seminole family and discovering that Tribal members lived an average of only 60 years, he was motivated to follow a plant-based diet. He has been plant-based since 2011.
Marc’s professional experience has led him to food systems as a cornerstone of environmental, public, and individual health. His goals are to teach people how to prepare plant-based meals, empower people and communities to grow their own food, learn more about traditional foods, cooking and gardening, and understand the connections between food, health, natural resources, and climate change. He has served as Program Facilitator for Native Food for Life Online and is active in community gardening, seed sharing, and promoting food sovereignty.
