Food for Life Instructor

Lisa Hinze

Lisa Hinze is a passionate foodie who proudly describes herself as a ‘Professional Homecook’ with a deep love for plant-based cuisine. As former co-director of a catering company for ten years, Lisa played a key role in menu development, integrating plant-based dishes long before they became mainstream. Her plant-based journey began over eight years ago, and she’s been captivated ever since, exploring the exciting possibilities of plant-based cooking.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Lisa developed an NCFE accredited online plant-based culinary course, teaching students how to cook classic dishes with a plant-based twist. Now, she’s back to hosting live, in-person classes where she continues to share her expertise. Lisa’s passion project, ‘Cooking in the Community’, has reached underserved groups and led to her work with government funded programs like the Cancer Alliance, teaching balanced diets to boost health, as well as Food Poverty - Food for All initiatives.

Lisa is also co-author of ‘Mum, I’ve Gone Vegan!’, where she shares her personal journey into the plant-based world and offers practical advice for those transitioning to a vegan lifestyle. As a licensed Food for Life instructor, Lisa is excited to share her nutritional knowledge with others, helping them discover simple, delicious plant-based dishes to improve their health and well-being.
