Twin Study Shows That Vegan Diets Improve Cardiometabolic Health
A new study has helped distinguish the effects of diet from those of genetics for health. Researchers took healthy adult twin pairs and assigned one twin to follow a plant-based and the other to follow an omnivorous diet for eight weeks. At the end of the study, the plant-based group had better cholesterol and fasting insulin and lost more weight than their omnivorous twin counterparts.
