More Plant Protein, Less Animal Protein Reduces Heart Disease Risk

A study drawing from several large cohorts of people has compared the protein ratios from plant and animal foods with incidence of cardiovascular diseases. The results from 30 years of follow-up of over 200,000 people found that the risk of heart disease significantly decreased. Diets with high in plant protein and protein density (~20% of daily calories from protein) were especially protective.
